Its getting cloudier
It rained and it rained cats and dogs in Karachi today. It was second episode of downpour in continuation. The skies of Karachi are wearing thick cloud blankets that could make the city wet anytime. The best thing that could be witnessed in the metropolis is the city's mayor's work that really worth some good words if not many.Perhaps for the first time eversince I have been in Karachi, although there were some discripancies yet the concerned authorities with sanitation were seemingly taking care of the mess up that rain creates everytime.Due to proper management ahead of time and well-carpeted roads, there was phenomenal drop in the mess-up across the city, yet to my amazement, the leading daily reported that local administration has been baffled just to keep their low quality paper afloat.Albeit I heard the city mayor himself came out on road to handle traffic. The newspaper plays vital role in how the news reaches and affects the people it reaches. They have key role in shaping up a society and perhaps have some part in society's makeover as well. But the negative impression of the society that these newspapers and the media has created over a period of decade is un-imaginable.Sometimes it seems to me that city's moral destruction contract has been awarded to Pakistani media by bigwigs or has been self-undertook just for vested interests.
On the other hand, city's administration has at least placed a cork on the cash outflows, the consequences of which can be witnessed as you drive or walk around. Some new CDGK bus-stops have also croped up since last couple of months. This all cool stuff is OK and a good number of people appreciate the steps but the major problem that not only city dwellers are facing but the whole country is inflation that crept up and spread like a wild-fire.The salaried class is almost flattened by this monstrous inflation.Even seemingly high paid class, the case is no different ,for instance a 100,000 Rs/= worth no more than 1398.41 USD.Even since the new government has taken over the USD price has gone record high from 60 Rs/USD to 73 Rs/USD and increasing. And not many people are earning this much. The inflation monster has given birth to social crimes among society as well as it has been the key thing for anxiety amongst our not-so-literate people but also literate beings because they can forecast the future but still the people are people. They love their city and so I am.So its like getting cloudier in every sense of the phrase..isnt it ??
